International Conference on Gears 2027 - Call for Abstracts now open!

This is the online portal for submitting contributions for the International Conference on Gear 2027, held in Garching, Munich at the Gear Research Centre (FZG) of the Technical University of Munich from September 8-10, 2027. During the submission process you have to create an account. With this account you can log in later to edit your abstract or change your personal data.

We would like to invite and encourage you to contribute an abstract and show improvements in the field of gears and transmissions, e.g. how gears can contribute to increasing energy efficiency, reducing resource consumption and how new technologies are incorporated in the powertrain.

Don´t miss out on being part of this unique meeting point for equipment manufacturers, experts and researchers of gear and transmission systems and present your new solutions, latest research results and technical ideas. 

Hand in your abstract covering related topics such as:

  1. Design, analysis and simulation of gears and transmissions
  2. Gear applications
  3. Testing and monitoring
  4. Gear production
  5. High performance plastic gears
  6. Sustainability

Important dates for authors/ schedule:

  • Deadline for submission of abstracts:           November 20, 2026
  • Notification of acceptance/rejection:             February 2027
  • Final program available:                                May 2027
  • Conference proceedings
    - deadline for submission of manuscripts:     June 4, 2027
  • Deadline for submission of manuscripts
    for a voluntary peer review and publication
    in the journal “Engineering Research”:           March 22, 2027

All accepted authors must submit a full paper, either to be published in the conference proceedings (VDI-Bericht as an eBook) which have an official ISBN number or if you are opting for a voluntary peer review in the collection “Best of Gears 2027” from the Springer-Nature Journal “Engineering Research” (Q2, http://www.springer.com/journal/10010). Participation in the peer review process is voluntary. If the authors wish to submit their full paper to the journal “Engineering Research”, this must be indicated in the abstract.

Guidelines for preparing your abstract

Authors should observe the following requirements:

  • Title of the paper and/or poster
  • An abstract summarizing your paper, no more than one sheet of A4/letter
  • Information about the speaker and co-authors: name(s), title(s), company address, department, job title, e-mail, phone number
  • In which topic area(s) your presentation should be listed
  • A statement specifying what is new in your presentation
  • A bibliography of your previous publications about this subject
  • How you would like to present your paper upon acceptance (full or poster presentation)
  • Note whether a peer review of the full paper in the proceeding is requested
  • Abstracts should be submitted in PDF or Word format
  • Conference language is English
